British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS) BASS was formed by a few English members of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine in the 1990's. Jonathan Johnson was a founder member of the society, later becoming the President. Most UK Spinal surgeons are now members and the multidisciplinary society also includes neurosurgeons, basic scientists and allied professions amongst its members.
British Cervical Spine Society (BCSS) The BCSS supports the study and treatment of all conditions affecting the cervical spine. Its membership includes Neurosurgeons and Spinal Orthopædic Surgeons throughout the United Kingdom.
Society for Back Pain Research The Society for Back Pain Research promotes the study of all clinical and scientific aspects of spinal pain, including the neck, and encourages research into its causes, treatment and prevention.
